Move your caravan with ease
A caravan mover takes all of the difficulty or worry out of moving your caravan. Modern movers are simple to use, very effective and once you have one you will soon wonder why you didn't do it earlier!
The most popular caravan movers are fitted to the chassis of your caravan and consist of motors which turn rollers as instructed by you, using the handheld remote control. These rollers act on your existing caravan tyres in order to move your caravan. A quality caravan mover, which should be chosen to suit your caravan, will move your caravan up inclines as steep as 1:4, down steep inclines slowly and safely and can move your caravan in a smooth manner, making it easy to position your caravan exactly where you want it, whether this be to connect to your towcar or park the caravan in a location with tight or complicated access.
There are a number of manufacturers of caravan movers who all offer slightly different products in terms of quality, warranty, backup services and of course price.
Some mover models require a manual actuation of the rollers onto the tyres, using a handle, before you can use the mover, whilst fully automatic models have an additional electric motor to undertake this task for you. Most manual actuation movers will include a cross-bar (PowrTouch call theirs the PowrBar) so that you can move rollers on both wheels from just one side of the caravan - useful if you are parked tight to a wall or boundary.
All quality movers will have a soft-start feature which means the mover smoothly starts to move, preventing jerkiness and some movers will even offer a variable speed control, controlled from the handset, so you can set the speed the caravan moves at!
